The Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drive (MV-VFD) is one of the latest products of the BORNA Electronics Company as the first producer of this equipment in IRAN. MV-VFDs are used in various industries including oil and gas and petrochemical industries, power, mining and steel industries, etc. All inquiries design case by case according to the special need of customers in voltage range of 3 to 11 kilovolts and power range of 250 to 15.000 kilowatts.
Work Principles
The structure of BORNA MV-VFD is one of the most famous and reliable structures in multi-level converters which is called Cascaded H-Bridge (CHB). The user can set the output frequency (motor speed), therefore appropriate output voltage waveform is generated by using the most up-to-date pulse generation algorithm. Using of high technology control system guarantees the minimum distortion of output voltage and current and lowest torque fluctuation.

- BORNA MV-VFD is a voltage source inverter designed to control the speed of medium voltage motors.
- The input section of this equipment is “phase shift transformer”; therefore input current THD is less than 5% at the loads over than 80% of the rated load.
- Input power factor is more than 95% at the loads over than 20% of the rated load.

- BORNA MV-VFD has the modular structure. Therefore, failed power-cells can be easily replaced and repaired. In ddition, this equipment is able to determine the failed power-cell.
