Radio-frequency testing is a recommended method of assessing insulating kits. An RF tester is commonly used for flange insulation.

Connect the two probes to opposite sides of the flange, ensuring full electrical contact, and read the displayed percentage. A higher reading indicates less kit leakage. A reading below 50% generally means the kit requires inspection and corrective work.
