Overview

Since 1996, Borna Electronics has been designing and manufacturing Industrial AC UPS Systems alongside its Industrial Battery Chargers (DC UPS). Industrial AC UPS systems are designed to provide uninterrupted and high-quality AC power to critical loads. Rectifier (Charger Unit)

The rectifier section consists of a fully controlled thyristor bridge responsible for converting AC input power into regulated DC power. This DC power is used both for charging the battery bank and supplying the inverter section. In redundant (dual) UPS configurations, two independent charger units operate separately to provide increased reliability and system availability.

Battery Bank

The battery bank serves as the energy storage source during utility power failures, ensuring uninterrupted power to critical loads. Supported battery technologies include Lead-Acid, Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd), and Lithium batteries. Dual UPS systems can be configured with one or two independent battery banks.

Inverter Unit

The inverter converts regulated DC power into a pure sinusoidal AC output with very low harmonic distortion through a fully controlled IGBT bridge utilizing SPWM technology. An isolation transformer provides galvanic isolation and voltage matching.

Static Switch

The static switch performs seamless, interruption-free transfer between inverter output and bypass source according to system operating conditions.

Bypass Line

The bypass line provides an alternative power path capable of supplying the load directly from the utility source through an isolated and regulated route.

Transfer Unit

The transfer unit manages inverter and utility source connection to the output load and controls charger selection under different operating conditions.
