Borna Electronics Polyurethane Resin is specifically developed for use in resin cable joints, providing excellent electrical insulation, mechanical protection, and long-term environmental resistance. The resin is suitable for underground, industrial, outdoor, and marine applications, ensuring reliable sealing and protection of cable connections against moisture, chemicals, and UV exposure.
Resin Mixing Instructions
- For ambient temperatures below 15°C, warm the resin package until it reaches approximately 20°C before mixing.
- Remove the polyethylene resin bag and detach the sealed center strip.
- Mix the contents thoroughly for 2 minutes, with a maximum mixing time of 3 minutes.
- Gather all resin material from the corners of the bag and direct it to one side of the package.
- Hold the bag firmly, cut one corner, and pour the contents through a funnel.
- While pouring into the joint mold, guide the resin slowly to prevent air entrapment.
- Once the joint housing is completely filled, remove the funnel and install the cover cap.
- Important: Do not move the joint until the resin has completely cured.
Cable Energization
For systems up to 1 kV, the cable may be energized immediately after the joint has been filled with resin. For systems above 1 kV, wait until the resin has fully cured before energizing the cable.
